Gurcharan Das, author of The Difficulty of Being Good: On the Subtle Art of the Dharma and the international bestseller India Unbound, delivered a public lecture at Emory University on Thursday, September 6, 2012. His talk was based on his forthcoming book, India Grows at Night (while the government sleeps).

About Gurcharan Das
Gurcharan Das is a world-renowned  author, commentator, public intellectual and the former CEO of Procter & Gamble India. In 1995, after a 30-year career in six countries, he took an early retirement to become a full time writer, and speaker who, in addition to authoring a regular column for The Times of India is a popular contributor to The Financial Times, Wall Street Journal, Foreign Affairs, and Newsweek.

Published in 2002, his book India Unbound has been translated into 17 languages and is the subject of a popular BBC documentary. His most recent book, The Difficulty of Being Goodis a riveting examination of moral failure, bad governance and corruption in our modern world. 
A graduate of Harvard University and Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program, Das is a member of the  international advisory board of Walmart, among other Fortune 100 companies, and is a sought-after consultant to some of the world’s largest corporations. He is a frequent commentator for CNN, BBC, and PBS.
He lives in New Delhi.
